Each Wednesday at 12:30-2:30 pm we have Social Table Tennis.
Anyone is welcome but we would particularly encourage Seniors to come along, get some exercise, meet some people and have a cup of tea. Many of our players are new to the game and enjoy the challenge of learning a new skill. As table tennis encourages concentration, low impact movement, reflexes and hand eye co ordination, health professional view it as a sport with signficant health benefits for the aging. It is also a sport that can be played by people with a disability. In fact, we have had wheel chair representation in the Commonwealth games
The afternoon is very social with a much deserved tea break half way through the session. Just come along and join us. The first week is free. We charge $5.00 to cover table hire and refreshments. It is fun. We have experienced players present willing to give advice and support practising stroke improvement. Plus the robot is very popular!
